This last weekend, the wife and I went out of town to visit Evermore Park, where we had a lot of fun: we got a room with a view of the park, saw some family, and completed a couple quests, we definitely will return!
More immediately relevant, my hopes that the manuscript for Closer Than Family would only require fairly minimal revision did not pan out. The better news, as you might intuit from that statement, is that I have the annotated manuscript back from my editor.
I will start diving in this week and looking at the changes I need to make. I’m still hoping to get the final book out by the end of the year, but it looks like I’ve got a long way to go to make this book the best it can be. I’ve only had a brief look at the notes so far, but I can already tell they’re addressing exactly the sort of issues I hoped. Of course, that means criticism that isn’t always easy to hear.
In any case, it’s finally time to get back to work.
