Well, it’s been a while since I did a post, so I figure you all are due for an update. I don’t have a whole lot concrete to share with you because I’m still taking it slow from finishing Closer Than Family, though I am laying groundwork for Hellhound as I do. I still wouldn’t call my outline finished by any means, but I’m confident I’ve got the ‘pieces’ for a good story, though I’m still pretty anxious to use them to best effect. Once again, I’m really hoping I can ‘stick the landing’ especially with the romance part of the story. (It was sort of incidental in Tamed Hearts, and while that seemed like it came off fine, I largely did it by accident. I’m hoping I can do it again, this time on purpose, and with a much more complicated story.)

In the meantime, I’m doing a lot of reading, in part to ‘internalize’ the tropes and structure of specifically romance stories with the hope I can use them to best effect. Among other things, I traded books (at a recent con event) with fellow fantasy author Shalomar Tyrloc, whose work some of you might appreciate.

So, no major developments, but work is still happening (if slowly). And as I keep telling people, I will be working on Hellhound until it is finished.
